When
starting a small business it is important to have a business
plan. You'll need it to help you think clearly about what aims
and expectations you have for your small business venture. Banks
and loan comapnies will also want to see it in order to make
decisions about granting you funds.
I'll
provide a basic list fo things to cover in your busienss plan
and links to more detailed information on this page, as well
as governemnt links on how to start your small business.
Small
Business Plan
1)
What services/products does your small business provide? What
are their uses/ attractions?
2)
Who are potential customers for your small business? Can you
reach them nationally or locally? If certain companies will
want to use your product/service have an idea of how many of
these companies operate locally.
3)
How will you promote your small business to the customers? Online
advertising? Website? Local newspaper ads? Magazine ads? Write/call/visit
local companies?
4)
How will you meet the finanical start-up needs of your business?
Savings? Loans? Plan to have to do several advertising campaigns,
not just one.
5)
How will you support yourself while starting your business.
Expect to have very little income in the first year. Start part-time
while working another part-time job? Savings? Spouse will support
you?
